There are other actors and actresses in this film such as (Mr Freddy Krueger himself) Robert Englund, Dee Snider from Twisted Sister (who was also the writer of the film) and Amy Smart. On the DVD commentary of the film, Dee Snider mentioned that filming the scenes with Carleton Hendricks rehabilitated and himself wearing a cardigan were the hardest parts of the movie to shoot. Dee hated wearing the cardigan. When the mob gathers around Carleton Hendricks' house, someone is holding a sign that says "We're not gonna take it". This would obviously be a reference to the title of the biggest single from Twisted Sister. After Captain Howdy was captured and you see the newspaper clippings of the case, Dee Snider wrote all of the clippings as spoken in the DVD commentary track. His reason is "for all you DVD nuts out there who'd pause and read them for continuity." The film itself is loosely based on the Twisted Sister song "orror-Teria from the 1984 studio album Stay Hungry.
