If you were a pornstar you wouldn't enjoy doing most porn regardless. It's exhausting work. It's not being intimate with someone you've chosen to be intimate with, starting and stopping when you agree to start and stop. You're following a director's orders. You're working long hours. You're constantly reshooting scenes. It's physically demanding work. Just staying hard is going to be difficult. It's very difficult work. Regardless, if you were a pornstar, you'd basically have to do gay-for-pay or you wouldn't make any money. Porn doesn't pay well and doing gay-for-pay is pretty much inevitable if you plan on using porn to put food on the table.

There's a significantly higher percentage of lesbians who do straight sex work than lesbians in the general population. A lot of us are able to mentally separate our personal sex life from our sex at work because of the obvious gender difference between clients. You'd be surprised at how many of those straight girls in porn aren't straight at all (to say nothing of dancers, escorts, camgirls etc.) There are a handful of lesbian couples where both of them are sex workers (although they usually don't actually see clients together). Sex workers dating other sex workers is a good arrangement since they both understand each other's work.

There are a lot of women who are the opposite. There are some people who are having sex with people for money, just without a camera involved. Straight women who do porn have to put food on the table too, and most of them are probably not wildly attracted to the men in their straight scenes. They're already having sex with people they're not attracted to; no reason for them not to extend that to lesbian content if it makes them money and they're reasonably comfortable with it. Because women rarely pay money to have sex with another women. Only men pay money to have sex with women. What percentage of female escorts are real life lesbians? It feels like lesbians probably find it very uncomfortable to be with male clients. Straight women might not be attracted to the client, at least it is less uncomfortable.

Lesbian scene is easier, you just do french kiss and oral sex. While gay sex you need to do anal sex, which is much more repulsive. Imagine a gay scene where you just french kiss and do oral, it doesn't happen often. You’re using the girls you know as a representative sample of the entire worlds female population. Porn sex is not for personal pleasure, it's for money and a lot of the pleasure is faked even when it's a straight scene featuring straight people. Straight female porn stars got bills to pay. Straight women do lesbian scenes because some men like to watch women having sex. They pay less because there's less demand for lesbian sex. Also, lesbian sex is less risky to the performer. It's harder to contract STD's from lesbian sex and men tend to feel less threatened if their partner has sex with other women. Therefore, lesbian sex scenes don't tend to cause as much anxiety in their personal lives. As a result of the lower risk (both physically and emotionally) porn actresses don't demand as much money for lesbian scenes.

Why do straight women do lesbian scenes if it doesn't even pay as much as straight scenes? The vast majority of women (at least 80%) have done at least a few lesbian scenes and they‘re probably not all bisexual in real life. Somebody even knows enough women in their life to say that at least 80% of them are not comfortable being intimate with other women. So why would they do something they are not comfortable with and get pay less. Another question is do real life lesbians do straight scenes? Yes, straight scenes pay a little more but lesbian scenes pay almost as much. If they really want, they could do exclusively lesbian scenes and still get alot of work.
