Duplicate pages

Does anyone know how I can merge two actress pages together as I have found two separate pages for the same actress or even if I could delete one of them and add her content from that page to the other page?

I have the same question. You can create duplicates just by difference on some special characters. Rocio Grancedo and Rocío Gancedo exists just because a tiny difference. An yes even when reported still appearing both. Also happened but only once that when saving a new profile somehow got saved twice and took a while before deleting one of them.

That wouln't bea a problem if people actually read the instructions when adding celebrities/titles. There's a line Name (English) for a reason. So under that you put Rocio Grancedo (English alphabet only) and under Real Name: Rocío Gancedo . The deleting of duplicates does indeed take way too long.

Got it. But names have no translation and for someone that use special characters all the time and which second language is English may not be so evident. Also for non English users that will also prevent them finding what they are looking for as if you they put the correct name and in the system only appears without special characters they won't find it. It happens to me all the time but I know now and have to look up to six times for someone and this depends on how long and how many special characters are on her name.

True. I know what you mean. Also there is sometimes six ways to translate a name into English (i.e. Russian names) which also complicates things. i and í should be universal though.

So in the end I think a temporary solution could be that where you have (English) a pop up or a balloon showing which is the meaning should be good enough. In the long term refine the search to include any vowel with any type of accent lower and uppercase.

Noting it in the Log Message seems to work best though not always (see Cheryl Smith and Cheryl "Rainbeaux" Smith). Several months ago posting a comment pointing it out and noting which page it is a duplicate of usually worked, but not of late. Moving appearances from one page to another sometimes works, but not always (see Married with Children and Married... with Children).
