It may be unfair to refer to the men and women of our nation's beleaguered police forces as swine, but there is a good case to be made that the creators of network cop shows have a streak of piggish male chauvinism. How else to account for the tendency to fill ancillary female roles with actresses, such as Monica Trombetta, whose sexual allure could be felt from a distance of three city blocks? It seems unfair to the criminals to place dusky brunette Monica and her mocha mounds in the vicinity of the interrogation rooms of Third Watch, Law & Order, Homicide, and NYPD Blue. Her scintillating looks unjustly sweat the crooks, and they'll admit to anything if only she will promise to turn up the heat even further.
