The fact that the animals spoke to African American laugh rioter Eddie Murphy in Dr. Dolittle (1998) and Dr. Dolittle 2 (2001) was relatively easy to accept. What stumped credibility was that Eddie's character was blessed with an angelic vision of sensual loveliness for a wife and that such a hot, wholesome, love-inspiring woman would stick with a wacko who talks to animals. It is a testament to the thespian superiority of mocha-light beauty Kristen Wilson that audiences, rather than simply toss up their hands in disbelief, found themselves enchanted and aroused by her dutiful and bootiful depiction of wifely splendor. Rather than leave the initial Dolittle in exasperated disgust, paying customers instead exited the theater looking forward to seeing Kristen again in the sequel.
