The Stephen King mini-series Storm of the Century (1999) caused a shower in our shorts, since it provided our first look at Julianne Nicholson. This former model had managed a few screen roles, but Storm was a breakout role that, well, didn’t break out much besides our zippers. Julianne’s had a slow climb to stardom. She’s been talented and ravishing in failed TV series such as The Others and Presidio Med, but Julianne wouldn’t really become a rising star until 2004. She got top billing in Seeing Other People (2004) as a nervous fiancée looking for an open relationship. The romantic comedy Little Black Book (2004) brought her to the multiplexes alongside Brittany Murphy. Then Kinsey (2004) finally gave Julianne a role worthy of her charms, as she got sexy in the fairly unsexy tale of legendary sex researcher Alfred Kinsey. She conducted her own sex research by turning in nude pervformances in My Name Is Carla (2005) and Flannel Pajamas (2005), before steaming up the small screen, albeit non-nudely, in Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Someone find this girl some grants, because the research must continue.
