Joyce Hyser made it to the big screen, if not quite the big time, in the comedy The Hollywood Knights (1980). She was one of its countless giggling girls. Joyce parlayed that credit into a part as an extra in Valley Girl (1983) and then played a groupie in This Is Spinal Tap (1984). The idiot box gave her equally brief exposure—though sadly, not in her briefs—on Freddy's Nightmares, based on the Nightmare on Elm Street scaries. Her experience incognito made her the perfect choice for the lead in Just One of the Guys (1985), in which she played a gal incognito. Her drag-king act fooled everyone, complete with a tube sock stuffed in her pants to pass as a tube steak. The high-school boy she had the hots for was confused by his conflicting emotions. It took a flash of her medicine-ball-sized bouncers at the prom to convince her beau that he wasn't gay. It's one of the all-time great nude scenes, sure to knock your socks off.
