Defying the conventional wisdom that nobody laughs and comes at the same time is sensual and silly sex-screen pioneer Elke Sommer. Ranked number thirty-one on Playboy's list of the One Hundred Sexiest Stars of the Century, Elke and her bare breasts made a serious impact when they burst upon the public in Sweet Ecstasy (1962). Although shot in black-and-white and with her nipples covered by the mashing mitts of a hulking Euro hunk, Elke's tits were a brazen dare to all the swinging '60s starlets. Elke was just as effective at tickling funny bones. Her kooky bombshell foil to Peter Sellers in A Shot in the Dark (1964) is a key to why that movie is regarded as the best Pink Panther outing of all.
