The daughter of a hotshot surgeon, Apache-eyed, whippet-thin brunette Dana Wynter was born in Berlin, Germany, slightly before the rise of the Nazis and was lucky enough to grow up in London, England. Bright and scholarly, Dana only took to theatrics as a break from her pre-med studies, but medicine would just have to wait when Dana discovered a higher calling, that of a big Hollywood movie celebrity. Receiving star billing for features that started with Lady Godiva Rides Again (1951) and moved up through Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956) and Airport (1970), Wynter's wild and wonderful ride was crowned with a regal slip of nip during a bed-top grapple beneath a huffing honkie in If He Hollers, Let Him Go (1968).
