The late Cheryl "Rainbeaux" Smith is the definitive '70s drive-in starlet, an ethereal nymph who brought inimitable star power and A-plus class to numerous B-movie classics. The waify blonde's film career skyrocketed from her lead in the art-short The Birth of Aphrodite (1971) and a bit part in the same year's biopic Evel Knievel. Cheryl changed her name to Rainbeaux Smith over the course of appearing in more than twenty-five motion pictures, every one of which is noteworthy, before she seemingly disappeared after 1982's Parasite. Sadly, the reason for Cheryl's absence was an extended battle with drug addiction that led her to destitution and jail and, ultimately, contributed to her tragic death in 2002. Fortunately, Rainbeaux will shine forever through her skintastic legacy, starting with 1974's The Swinging Cheerleaders and continuing on through such mammariffic milestones as Caged Heat (1974), Revenge of the Cheerleaders (1975), The Pom Pom Girls (1976), Massacre at Central High (1976), Drum (1976), and Cinderella (1977), to name just a few. In the 1975 send-up Video Vixens, Rainbeaux sensationally displayed her comedic talents (along with her entire body) as the Twinkle Twat Girl, hawking an unabashed feminine hygiene spray. Offscreen Cheryl performed live with Cheech & Chong and often sat in as a drummer for Joan Jett. There was nothing this multitalented knockout couldn't do . . . except find happiness in a world for which she was too beautiful.
