A light-skinned, mixed-race vision of exquisite refinement and feline sensuality, British actress Cathy Tyson is the daughter of a black lawyer from Trinidad and a white English social worker. Too cool for school, Cathy quit college at seventeen and within two years graduated to a position with the Royal Shakespeare Company. But it was in the company of gritty Brit screen star Bob Hoskins as a wistful, jaded, brave, and jilted prostitute in Neil Jordan's Mona Lisa (1986) that Cathy achieved everlasting renown. A couple of years later, the same eternal glory was bestowed upon the chest flesh of her body double in Wes Craven's Serpent and Rainbow (1988).
